The people at Avalanche Software did a great job building the world of Hogwarts Legacy, as these well-known places show.
Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG made by Avalanche Software. It takes place in the wizarding world of Harry Potter before the main books. Fans and critics alike praised Hogwarts Legacy as the best Harry Potter game to date. The game is full of strange creatures, strong spells, and hidden places that are sure to keep players interested for a long time.
The open-world map of Hogwarts Legacy was a bold choice that turned out to be a great place for the many side quests in the game. There are many places from the Harry Potter books and movies in the game, including some of the most famous places in the Harry Potter universe.
The Common Rooms
The common rooms of Hogwarts have always been one of the most famous parts of the wizarding school, and fans are beyond thrilled to finally be able to step into not only the Gryffindor or Slytherin rooms, but also the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff rooms. In the movies, Harry and his friends have talked about things in the Gryffindor common room and Malfoy and his friends have plotted against the heroes in the Slytherin common room. But the other school houses and rooms haven’t gotten as much attention.
In Hogwarts Legacy, on the other hand, each room has its own personality and is full of little secrets and details. Each room in Hogwarts Legacy has been recreated in a beautiful way, with unique banners, stylish interiors, lots of portraits, and much more.
The Great Hall
Fans of Harry Potter feel a lot of nostalgia in the Great Hall, because they have seen so many important moments happen there. It’s a treat to see it beautifully recreated in Hogwarts Legacy, with long tables that stretch across the room, a roof that looks like the sky above, hundreds of floating candles, and food that magically appears on the table.
Fans of the Harry Potter movies can’t help but think back to the iconic moments when Dumbledore would give points to the different houses and name the winner of the House Cup. In Hogwarts Legacy, when you walk into the Great Hall, it just feels magical.
The Quidditch Pitch
Quidditch, a popular wizarding game, is not available to play in Hogwarts Legacy. But the game still has the famous Quidditch Pitch. Where players can fly around on their broomsticks and pretend to play the sport. The developers worked hard to recreate the pitch, so much so that fans feel cheated. When they find out they can’t actually play the game.
Still, in Hogwarts Legacy, the Quidditch Pitch is a great place that fans of the series are sure to find interesting. The pitch was in several of the Harry Potter movies, starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and ending with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Hogsmeade Village
The first time we saw Hogsmeade Village was in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. And Hogwarts Legacy does a great job of recreating it. In the village, you can see what wizards and witches do now that they are adults. Players can go on many different quests in Hogsmeade, which also has many shops, such as Tomes and Scrolls, Ollivanders, J. Pippin’s Potions, and The Magic Neep.
Hogsmeade Village has been made over with the same level of detail as Hogwarts Castle. The architecture of the village gives off a very cozy feeling. Which makes it a lot of fun for players to walk on its cobblestone streets.
Hogsmeade Station
In Hogwarts Legacy, players begin their journey at Hogwarts by taking a flying carriage straight into the castle. Because of this, the game doesn’t include the famous Hogwarts Express or Diagon Alley. But Hogwarts Legacy still has the Hogsmeade Station, which is where students get off the train before going to school.
Later in the game, you can go to the station, which has been made over beautifully. Trains can be seen coming and going from the station. And there is a quest for players to do there that involves popping balloons.
The Black Lake
The Black Lake is another well-known place in the Harry Potter series that has been shown more than once. Hagrid would take the first years to Hogwarts castle in boats. That they could row themselves across the lake from Hogsmeade station. In the game, players can swim in the Lake and fly over it on their broomsticks to see how beautiful it is.
The lake is home to many strange animals, but the giant squid is the most famous one. Players can’t explore all of the lake’s underwater parts to find out all of its secrets. But the giant squid does sometimes come out of the water. In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry had to use Expecto Patronum to save Hermione and his past self from death eaters. This is an iconic scene from The Black Lake.
The Forbidden Forest
In Slope Game, players can go in and out of the Forbidden Forest whenever they want, so it’s not as forbidden as it was in the movies. However, the place still has the same dark feel as it did in the movies. There are spiders, centaurs, and unicorns, among other magical and creepy-crawly creatures, in the Forbidden Forest. This makes it a very dangerous place to wander around in.
The first time the Forest was mentioned was in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. When Hagrid put Harry, Hermione, Neville, and Malfoy in detention. Fans of the books will also remember the famous scene in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix where a group of dangerous centaurs attack Umbridge.
